Adopt

The Monster Milers currently do not have dogs available for adoption through our rescue organization, but we know plenty of adoptable running buddies through working at our shelter partners! Check out a few of our current runners below!

Note:  Some dogs listed below are pups we are sponsoring at Street Tails Animal Rescue, and others are dogs we have met through running at partner shelters. To learn more about them, click on the links below.   Financially sponsoring dogs at our partner shelters is a way we can directly save lives when we don't have available foster homes, or aren't pulling for our rescue.

Things we think you should know:

  • We believe good things happen when you lace up and leash up, whether you're going for a run, a hike in the woods, prepping for a game of fetch or a neighborhood walk.  We value all forms of exercise for our four legged buddies!  (You do not have to be a runner to adopt from us.)  Dogs are happiest when they get the proper opportunities for exercise and we support any sort of healthy lifestyle for our adoptables.

  • All dogs and puppies will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and healthy before we place them up for adoption.

  • The adoption fee for adult dogs is $250 and $300 for puppies under six months.

  • Residents of Philadelphia must also complete a dog license form.

  • The application must be filled out completely.  Our Foster Care Coordinator will review all applications and will call the adopters vet reference (if applicable) and will also do a landlord check (if the adopter does not have a copy of their lease stating they are allowed pets at their property.)  Once an adopter is approved, the foster parent will schedule a meet with the potential adopter.

  • If you have a specific dog in mind, please let us know on your adoption application.

If you have any questions about adoption, please contact us.

Because we are a foster-based rescue we normally only have 1-4 dogs in foster care at any given time.   We depend on volunteer foster homes to save lives.  If you would like to learn more about becoming a foster family, please see our Fostering page.  We provide the tools and resources our foster families need for success! (Basic pet supplies, training advice, mentoring, veterinary care, etc.)

You can view a list of our adoptable pups on PetFinder and/or check out available dogs below.  Ready to adopt?  Fill out an adoption application.  (Click on the pics to read more about each dog!)
