Update - November 2015: John found his forever home. His adopter says, "I totally feel like he's the perfect fit and I feel like I've hit the jackpot!" (We do too!) Leading up to The Rescue Run 5K, John was our spokesdog, appearing in daily PSA's on 6ABC! He was fresh out of the shelter and a little bit shy at first on camera, but has completely blossomed. You can see his on-air performance here. (Not bad considering he was sitting in a kennel at the City's intake shelt
Update: Phoenix was adopted by his foster family in December 2015. We couldn't be happier for them! Phoenix continues to thrive in her foster home, but she'd love to find a permanent home of her own. The social butterfly is busy making friends all over town. (Did we mention she is completely photogenic too?) We just got this update from her foster Mom:
"She's doing great. She's a fantastic dog that is quick to learn and always up for an adventure! I have never met a 9
It was a great summer at The Monster Milers. We previously posted about Miranda’s save last week, but we wanted to let you know about a few others who found forever homes this Summer and what they’ve been up to with their forever families! Lila: Lila was on her last day at our city's open-intake shelter. Summertime means even more dogs are found as strays and surrendered by their owners, and the shelter just didn't have space. Lila was quiet and had been overlooked for the m
Happy news alert!
When we first met Miranda in June, she was a sick and stressed out dog that desperately needed to leave our city's open-intake shelter. Emily and Bryce (who also fostered Clara) stepped up and opened their home and the Milers were able to rescue Miranda through our foster care program. Then an adoption application came in from Cait a
How did you meet Bravo and/or hear about The Monster Milers? I work for Road Runner Sports (a running store) as the marketing and events rep, so I am always on the lookout for running groups I don't know about. The Monster Milers had been at a race expo and I saw them tagged on Facebook. I clicked on the website and thought "This is a great idea!" I figured bringing running dogs to the running store would improve their chances of finding a forever running buddy so we set up a
UPDATE - Lila was adopted in September 2015! Lila is a beautiful puppy that is the best of both worlds – she’s playful like a puppy but she knows when to listen and likes to have relaxation time. She’s currently living in foster care with two large dogs. She likes to go say hi to them but understands when they need their space and will go lay on a blanket. She’s also had playful and appropriate interactions with dogs when she was at the shelter. Lila is a really affectionate
UPDATE - Miranda has been adopted! Meet Miranda! If you're looking for a dog that just goes with the flow, she's your gal. Vet poking and prodding? She'll give you a slow tail wag. Foster dog brother wants to play? She'll engage for a bit and then go relax. Miranda is a laid back dog that loves to spend her days lounging with her people. She's an affectionate cuddlebug and would be a great armrest when you're watching TV or reading a book. She is house-trained, crate-trained,
